Mexico Updates Certification Framework under IFT Technical Dispositions IFT-016-2024 and IFT-017-2023

Mexico’s Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT) has accredited certification bodies (CBs) and testing laboratories to conduct local conformity assessments under the Technical Dispositions IFT-016-2024 and IFT-017-2023.

The new technical standards aim to strengthen the local certification process, enhance regulatory oversight, and ensure compliance of telecom and electronic equipment with national safety and performance requirements.

IFT-016-2024 will enter into force on November 3, 2025.
IFT-017-2023 will enter into force on November 7, 2025.
