On September 11, 2025, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) announced the approval and publication of the updated technical code Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Equipment – Specifications (Second Revision), MCMC MTSFB TC T012:2025.
The revised code, officially published on June 26, 2025, introduces new compliance requirements for all LMR equipment submitted for certification.
📌 Key points:
A 6-month transition period has been granted.
Full enforcement begins on December 27, 2025.
During the grace period, applications submitted under the previous code will only be granted a maximum validity of 1 year.
From December 27, 2025, all new submissions and renewals must comply with the revised code.
Manufacturers and importers are strongly encouraged to review the updated specifications and align certification plans accordingly.
