On 25 August 2025, India’s Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) officially enforced MTCTE requirements for several equipment categories.
This means that to import, manufacture, or sell the following products in India, MTCTE certification is now mandatory:
- Cellular Customer Premises Equipment
- Fixed Wireless Phones (Voice & Data / Voice only)
- SAN Switches
- Fabric Interconnect Switches
- Network Security Management Equipment
- Network Security Analytics Equipment (Managed & Unmanaged)
- Content Security Equipment
- DDoS Protection Equipment
- Malware Analysis Equipment
- Web Application Firewalls
- NGSO User Terminals & Integrated Gateways
📌 The initial notification was issued on 25 February 2025 — giving companies a six-month window to prepare. That period has now ended.
