On May 22, 2025, the Subsersecretaría de Telecomunicaciones (SUBTEL) of Chile published Exenta Resolution No. 737, which amends Exenta Resolution No. 1985 of 2017, related to technical standards for short-range devices (SRDs).
As of February 22, 2026, SUBTEL will no longer issue approval certificates for Low Power Devices (LPDs), with the exception of MICS devices.
Instead of the certificate, local manufacturers or importers must include a QR code (minimum of 1 cm x 1 cm) on the packaging of each product. This code should point to a Spanish-language website containing:
– Product and Manufacturer Information
– Technical Specifications
– Test reports
– Declaration of conformity in accordance with Chilean regulations
The new rule comes into force on February 22, 2026.
