On January 16, 2026, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) published updated regulations for Wireless Communication Service (WCS) equipment. RSS-195, Issue 3 replaces Issue 2 and expands its scope to include the 2305–2320 MHz and 2345–2360 MHz frequency bands. A six-month transition period applies, during which both Issue 2 and Issue 3 will be accepted for certification applications. As of July 16, 2026, all new certification applications must comply with RSS-195 Issue 3.
In parallel, ISED released SRSP-516, Issue 2, replacing Issue 1, which introduces updated technical requirements, including specific rules for Active Antenna Systems (AAS) and their deployment in the same frequency bands.
