The Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações (ANATEL) has enacted Ato No. 16417, published on November 26, 2024, introducing a comprehensive Operating Procedure for auditing the cybersecurity policies of suppliers of telecommunications products and equipment.
These guidelines define how suppliers must demonstrate compliance with ANATEL’s cybersecurity expectations, strengthening network resilience, data protection, and overall digital security within Brazil’s telecom ecosystem.
Starting November 26, 2025, the Act becomes fully mandatory, requiring all affected suppliers to undergo ANATEL-regulated cybersecurity audits as part of Brazil’s push toward stricter oversight and safer telecom infrastructure.
